Recently, I was lucky enough to be gifted (not by the brand unfortunately, but by my boyfriend, which is still extremely lucky) a lovely spa trip to Ruddington Park spa, just outside of Harrogate, for their evening starlight spa experience. This included a glass of prosecco on arrival (that’s what I like to hear), a 45-minute treatment and Jacob chose for me to have a facial, and then access to all the parts of the spa such as the escape zones, swimming pools, saunas and rooftop spa and garden.
This was such an amazing choice so thanks Jacob! I’ve never been on a spa ‘evening’ before, so it was even more relaxing to go when it was dark. As Ruddington Park is near Harrogate centre, it is perfect for making a day of it because you can go into the centre, have a bit of a wander round, do a bit of shopping, grab some lunch and then head over to the spa. That’s exactly what we did.
Once we arrived on the spa premises it was hard not to be in awe of how beautiful the outside and the building is. The instant spa like smell hits you even as you walk up to the door. I’m not gonna lie, I was so excited for this spa day. I don’t know about you but I honestly could have one every week. They just make me feel like I am really taking time out to relax, look after and help my body recover from the busyness of life.
We first went into a bar downstairs where we had our beverages in there which was lovely to start the evening. You could also have got your glass upstairs in the bar at the spa, but we loved just having a little sit down before we went into the spa.
We headed straight to the outside hot tub which was a lot bigger than a hot tub, more like a hot swimming pool. It was beautiful and looked out onto the forest and gardens. Although we couldn’t really see them because it was dark, the trees were lit up with beautiful lights.
Other parts of the spa we got to experience were herbal steam rooms, foot spas, an oxygen room, a sunlight room and a sauna. My favourite was the sunlight room, which I have never seen at any other spa. It gave your skin the amount of vitamin D you would need in a day in just 20 minutes, and not to mention it was lovely and warm, basically like sun bathing.
Onto the treatment room, which is right downstairs, where Jacob and I were treated to our 45 minute facials. This is my absolute favourite treatment; there is no better feeling than your skin feeling amazing and glowing. Even Jacob absolutely loved it. I love how they always ask if there is anything specific you would like your treatment tailored towards, it makes it very worthwhile and a personal experience. The range of products used were lovely and left my skin feeling great afterwards.
Once your treatment is finished, you have an hour of access to a relaxation room for after a treatment, which had a visual relaxation room, an audio relaxation room and a sleep room. You could also pick up one of their selection of herbal teas, which was a lovely touch.
For this spa day, it was £116 each for, a 5pm-9:30pm access, your 45-minute treatment and your glass of prosecco included. Both Jacob and I agreed that this was a decent price for what we got, and the treatment definitely made it worthwhile. The spa isn’t that huge, and we found that this amount of time was just right; enough for us to try every room and experience but not feel like we had run out of new things. With the treatment in the middle, our spa evening was perfect. Thanks Jacob!
Feel free to leave me any comments or ask me any questions about the spa!
