I literally feel like I’ve blinked, and 18 months with Jacob have already happened. One of my favourite things to do is look back and think about memories I have created, and the ones me and Jacob have made together are so special. I can’t believe how much we have done together in the space of only 18 months and we have made so many plans for next year already; we are both always so busy! All our times together are as important as each other…and as cringe as it sounds, we have become a pretty inseparable couple (yes I know I am cringing at myself too).

When we met, we were really lucky to be able to dedicate plenty of time to each other. I had just finished my year one college exams, and Jacob had time off work, so we spent a lot of time together and were constantly doing things. We met pretty much every day of the week, and went for lots of Costa dates, picnics in the park near my college and chill evenings at home. One of my favourite things we did was spend the day at Sherwood Forest’s Centre Parcs Aqua Spa, honestly the most amazing spa I’ve ever been to! We became really close really quickly and the same with each other’s’ families too.

The hardest thing that has happened in 18 months of our relationship was definitely when I went on holiday for a month, travelling Europe with my family. We were a pretty new couple of only 3 months, and I jetted off for 4 full weeks travelling. Thank goodness for FaceTime because we did it for at least half an hour every day. We both have a different sort of pattern in how we miss each other; I missed Jacob ridiculous amounts in the first few days. I pretty much cried myself to sleep (no exaggeration) for the first couple of nights. I go off how long I have left until I see him which is why I feel so much worse and miss him so much when we first leave each other. Jacob is the opposite though, and he misses me more as time goes on, and doesn’t feel so bad when we leave each other as we have only just seen each other. Jacob came to see me as soon as I got home from the airport, and I’m not even joking, he didn’t even look real! It was so weird as we had been so used to seeing each other through a screen, when we saw each other in person it was so different.

Reunited after a month

For our 6-month anniversary (and yes…you may laugh at us celebrating 6 months together but for the first year I do believe in 6 months as a milestone), we spent the evening and night at the Clayton Hotel in Leeds. It’s mad to look back at this now considering I now live in Leeds and we go out in Leeds all the time now. We had a lovely meal at Miller and Carter finished off with cocktails in Turtle Bay and a dance in Tiger Tiger.

I can honestly say I am the luckiest girl in the whole world. I had the most amazing 18th birthday with family and friends. Jacob was a life saver, and I’m not even joking about that. May have slightly gone overboard on the ‘legal drinking’ antics resulting in Jacob taking me home earlier than planned…but what a night to do it! He also bought me the most special gift, a rose gold Michael Kors watch, which I will always keep and wear.

Our first Christmas together was the best. We spent Christmas Eve with Jacob and his family at his grandma and grandad’s house and it was lovely to open presents with his family, have a drink and play some music and eat tonnes of food. We spent Christmas Day separately with our families and then spent Boxing Day with my family, at my Nan’s house, eating more food and playing board games. Jacob’s cousins and Auntie and Uncle then came down to visit so we spent the day with them, and the following day with my Grandma and her partner. We had such a busy, but lovely family Christmas together. Our New Year’s Eve was also spent together along with Jacob’s friend Ashley and his girlfriend Gabby. We went to a friends’ first and then out for the night. It was the best feeling entering 2018 together!

New Year's Eve

I was gutted when I realised I was away in New York City with college for Valentine’s Day this year. The first ever Valentine’s Day I can officially celebrate with someone and I’m flipping not even in the same country as him! Typical! We had a lovely night at Miller and Carter, Turtle Bay and Revolution the weekend before though. (You will soon get to understand that our favourite place to eat is Miller and Carter and favourite place for cocktails is Turtle Bay).

To celebrate our one-year anniversary together, we travelled up to Coniston Cold just beneath the Yorkshire Dales, to stay at the Coniston Hotel. We spent the day at the spa there which was beautiful, with a gorgeous infinity hot tub looking at the view of the lake. We had an amazing meal there too, and a proper relax. Our official anniversary is also Jacob’s birthday (to my annoyance and also my bank account’s) as he asked me to be his girlfriend on his 21st birthday, so we spent the day together and with his family too. We went to a lovely café for lunch and had a home cooked tea at his. We couldn’t believe how quick a year had gone.

We had another challenge through the summer whilst I did my A levels. A lot of my time was concentrated on revising, so we saw each other less, and I was extremely overwhelmed and emotional, as most girls can be. Jacob was the biggest support to me, he helped test me on my revision and kept me sane whilst my brain was in pieces with all this stuff I had to remember! This went on for pretty much 2 whole months; we basically lived for when they were over and I could relax more, and we got to spend more time together again without me being emotional or stressed!

In the summer holidays, me and Jacob jetted off to Tenerife which I have also written about as a travel blog post. I have always dreamed about going on a holiday with my boyfriend; we couldn’t believe we were actually getting to spend a whole week together in the sun…relaxing! We spent the week in the sun eating lots of food, drinking cocktails, playing games with the entertainment team by the pool (which Jacob won on two occasions resulting in the prize of bottles of prosecco…my favourite!) and we ended up meeting a lovely family who we spent a couple of evenings with. We also had the best day at Siam Park which is the biggest waterpark ever and it was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend.

Our most recent situation is one with a huge change, which Jacob has adapted to amazingly to make me happy. I moved to Leeds in September for University; Jacob has always been so supportive and has encouraged me to do whatever I want in life and by moving to Leeds I can complete my degree. We don’t actually live far from Leeds, but it is still further to drive than we have been used to for Jacob to come and see me. He comes twice a week and I am so grateful that he makes so much effort to come and see and stay with me, though I think that tea being on the table when he gets here does persuade him too! We are loving this new chapter in our lives, being more independent and spending more quality time together, and can’t believe it’s not far off the end of my first semester.

We have already got a few plans for next year too. My birthday, Christmas and New year will be great together for the second time at the end of this year, and we have plans to visit Paris early next year. We also want another holiday abroad together next year, either with family or alone again, and we constantly plan days out and nights out together too as well as embracing the Uni life going out, and nights in at the flat with my cooking!

Here’s to many more years and memories together!

Thanks for reading! Keep smiling and have a great day! Liv xxx
