I didn’t think I’d being saying that I was reflecting on my sixth week in lockdown, but here I am. I don’t really know how long I thought lockdown would last, but I didn’t imagine that it would be this long. To think I’ve not left the small village I live in for the length of a school summer holiday is just a bit crazy.

I had my last week of live online University lectures this week. Do not be fooled though. I have got heaps of assignments to continue getting on with that have due dates well into June. I reckon I will get them all done within the next few weeks though, so I will feel free soon! I never thought I would say this but I am extremely grateful for the Uni work and assignments keeping me busy and keeping me in a routine as I am pretty sure I would be bored out of my mind by now without something to focus lots of time and energy on.

After the past 6 weeks of converting my gym routine into home workouts, I am actually seeing a great improvement in both my fitness levels and my body shape. Doing exercise purely using bodyweight would never usually be a preference of mine but now that I am starting to see results, I am really happy and I am going to continue to push myself. One good thing that has come out of this lockdown so far is that I am learning more about myself when exercising. I have learnt what I enjoy, and what I don’t as much, and I have found a routine that really works for me. When this is all over I can continue to do home workouts and get great results, and most importantly, feel really good after.

I really enjoyed cooking for my family this week because I tried a new recipe from the new Pinch of Nom ‘Everyday Light’ recipe book. I used butternut squash, something I have never cooked with before and I don’t think I’ve ever eaten, to make a curry sauce. It was a success too! I always love cooking and baking, and trying new recipes is exciting for me because it gives me ideas for when I can cook for Jacob when we can be together again.

This weekend, I roped my Dad into helping me paint my bedroom. I have been after a newly decorated room for a while, and now I have moved home from Leeds for good and I will be spending a lot of time in it, I figured it would be a good idea to paint it whilst we haven’t got anything better to be doing. I can now proudly announce that I have mastered the art of roller painting and masking taping. I am so happy with it now it is done and with both of us doing it together, it didn’t even take the full day (that’s if you don’t count moving everything back into my room and cleaning it all).

I am now about to blow all my money on new things for my room. I’m kidding, well, kind of. I figured that I may as well use the money I had saved for holidays that definitely are not going to happen this year, on something that is justifiable and will last me a long time. Getting new décor for my room is literally the most exciting thing right now. I spend a lot of time on Instagram looking at interior design so I can’t wait to add a few bits to my room. The stuff I am getting will probably be taken into my own house one day (whenever that may be) so I think that it will be money well spent. Although, I did also just spend money on a big online shop order and a skincare order, but a girl’s got to self-care in quarantine!

Keep going, you’re doing great. I hope that you’re doing ok this week and every day is a day nearer to the end.

Keep smiling and have a great day! Liv xxx
